Rebecca Riedel, born in Frankfurt am Main, studied art at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen (NL) and design/experimental media at the UdK Berlin.

Since 2008, she has been creating her own artistic video works for theatre productions in Berlin (Schaubühne, Volksbühne, Deutsches Theater, Maxim Gorki Theater, HAU, Ballhaus Naunyn), Hamburg (Thalia Theater, Kampnagel), Münchner Kammerspiele, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Hannover, Staatsoper Nürnberg, Theater Bremen and Staatsschauspiel and Staatsoper Stuttgart.

Rebecca Riedel works collaboratively with Mieke Ulfig. Together they run the film and graphic design studio Riedel&Ulfig and the micro-publishing house
Mortadella Press.

Before her studies, she trained as a milliner and worked as a set designer for films. Since 1999 she is a founding member of the artist group Superschool (with B. Dunse, M. Einhoff, M. Ulfig). The group produced the format Superschool TV for several years. In an undogmatic and humorous way, they reflected on media events and playfully created their own anarchic TV channel, adopting all the necessary techniques such as script, direction, camera, editing and animation. Superschool develops further performative formats such as Superschool's Kongress des Halbwissens and Superschool's Gesichtsbuch, which deal with the interfaces between science and art and are performed in theatres and art spaces in show formats.

She lives and works in Berlin.
